About us

Pocket Parks are local public green spaces which are owned, looked after and cherished by local communities for peaceful enjoyment and the protection of wildlife.

From the early 1990s Northamptonshire County Council worked in partnership with other organisations to help local volunteer groups create Pocket Parks across Northamptonshire – Desborough is one of the few that still remains today.

The Desborough site/land is owned by North Northants County Council (NNCC). NNCC is responsible for ongoing ground maintenance and the trees.

The Pocket Park Management committee helps to maintain the park using local volunteers and by raising grants and funds for improvement to the park’s habitat and for new projects.

What We Do

The Desborough Pocket Park Volunteer Group is dedicated to supporting, maintaining, and improving Desborough Pocket Park for the benefit of the local community.

We organise volunteer activities, conservation projects, and community events that help protect and enhance this valuable green space.

Our group promotes wellbeing, environmental responsibility, and community involvement while raising funds and securing grants to support future improvements.

We work closely with North Northamptonshire Council and keep residents informed and involved to ensure the park remains a welcoming and sustainable community asset for everyone to enjoy.
